It is Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas… Grumble!!

It is November, not December.

It is still Autumn not Winter.

It is almost Thanksgiving not Christmas.

So why am I wearing a hat, scarf, mittens, heavy coat, and boots?

Because I live in Michigan…that is why!

Isn’t it bad enough that they are playing Christmas movies on The Hallmark Channel already?

Enough that Christmas music is floating through every one of our department stores speakers?

Enough that the decorations and other Christmasy things have been on display since October?

Did we really need the snow? Grumbles….

How do you feel about wintry weather? Are you loving it? Or are you like me who says: “Bah…humbug!”

  1. I agree with you! Winter came way too early this year. For someone who is not wanting time to move so quickly all of this is very overwhelming. Here where I live, as soon as Halloween was over, out came the Christmas shows, the toy store ads and all the before the before Christmas decorations, unwanted emails from every place I ever shopped and the “what do you want for Christmas this year” questions. I would like to be like the Kranks this year, skipping Christmas, I just can’t take all the commercialism that comes with it, and it seems to be getting worse every year. And don’t get me started on the sub zero temperatures and school delays, ugh!

      1. There is no reply button after the Grinch song, but I love it! I have to say, when it comes to that poor little dog, I always felt sorry for him!! Maybe the Grinch costume won’t fit me so well!! 🙂

  2. Well, no surprise at all the cranky comments, really. Hating on Christmas has been the norm for a few decades. I don’t mind so much as I used to; people have the right to make themselves miserable, after all. What still irks me is the least hint that one is being “quirky” or “subversive” by griping about the early start of the holiday. Hell, the only thing more cliche is talking about “I can’t believe I ate so much turkey! I’m so sleepy!”

    1. It may be that my shoes are too tight…some say my head is not screwed on just right..
But whether it be my head or my shoes….
Reminding me of my attitude last year makes me cry boo..hoo…hoo!

Got something nice to say, witty, silly, profound, demented, redundant or redundant? Go ahead make my day!
