Shadows.

shadow

This is another Lilly McFerrin Writes prompt.  I have used the image that she gave in the prompt.

Passing each other almost everyday, he, tipping his hat, she smiling in her shy way.

So much of life has passed them by, shadows now.

He dreams of the time he was handsome and young, she dreams of the days when she caught his eye.

So much life has passed them by, all shadows now.

Once there was laughter and dancing and such, now he tips his hat as she walks by.

So, what dreams have you let slip by? What dreams are you chasing?

  1. Quite moving. However the third sentence causes me to wonder whether these two individual were ever married. “…she dreams of the days when she caught his eye.”

    1. I think of it as two people who were too shy to tell each other how they felt. It is funny how we all interrupt things differently. I am glad you liked it.

Got something nice to say, witty, silly, profound, demented, redundant or redundant? Go ahead make my day!
